Plastic is extruded by liquefying polymeric beads and passing the melt through a die at the front of the extruder. The process has five stages.<\/p>\n<h2>1. Feeding Raw Plastic and Additives<\/h2>\n<p>The process begins by adding the specified polymeric compound into a hopper above the screw entry at the back of the extruder. Additives such as colorants and UV-resistant chemicals are included here.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Melt and Transfer by Screw Conveyance<\/h2>\n<p>The screw and barrel are heated by coils, melting the polymer in a stepped staging process. As the screw rotates, the melt proceeds toward the front of the machine. Sieving screens in the melt path remove debris and contaminants \u2014 and increase the uniformity, and thus the tensile strength, of the finished product.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Forcing the Melt into the Custom Die<\/h2>\n<p>At the front of the machine, the molten polymer passes through a die opening in the shape of the product \u2014 a channel, profile, rod, tube, or any geometry. The semi-liquid profile is then guided into sizing tools that set the material to the exact dimensions required by the specification.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Downstream Extraction<\/h2>\n<p>A takeoff unit at the end of the line pulls the profile as it exits the extruder \u2014 governing line speed and, through pull tension, helping preserve dimensional stability. Skilled operators supervise control parameters and barrel temperatures across both melting and cooling phases.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Collection, Packaging and Transport<\/h2>\n<p>Finished profiles are cut to customer-specified lengths, or coiled onto spools for flexible products.
